Cupid has struck early on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW, as Canada’s Queen of Daytime kicks off “The Best Valentine’s Vacation Ever” contest for viewers in desperate need of an unforgettable getaway. • MIKE HOLMES: Canada’s “Most Trusted Contractor,” TV personality and judge on CANADA’S HANDYMAN CHALLENGE stops by to answer viewers’ home renovation questions as part of the show’s “Ask An Expert” series.
• LYNN CRAWFORD: Having appeared on RESTAURANT MAKEOVER and IRON CHEF AMERICA, the Canadian chef cooks-up pork chops on collard greens and a potato and cheddar cheese soup as part of the show’s “Family Dinner Month” series, featuring meal ideas for $15 or less.

Tuesday, Jan. 24
• Marilyn kicks off the show’s first-ever “GREAT CANADIAN WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE” by introducing a dedicated overweight family from Cambridge, ON determined to shed some pounds. For the next six-months, a team of Marilyn experts including alternative health expert BRYCE WYLDE, nutritionist JULIE DANILUK, family therapist JOE RICH, and fitness guru BRENT BISHOP breakdown the facts on fat and offer a customized plan to help each family member lose weight and gain control. Marilyn checks in with the family on a monthly basis; however, viewers can follow the family’s progress daily online at marilyn.ca – where those struggling with their weight are encouraged to also join the challenge.

• SECRETS TO BETTER SLEEP: Tired? Marilyn dedicates a full hour to helping viewers suffering from insomnia and other sleep disorders catch up on their Zzzzz’s. Rest assured, DR. SANJEEV SHARMA reveals the effects sleep and lack thereof has on our bodies; naturopath NATASHA TURNER talks natural sleep aids; nutritionist MIRANDA MALISANI discusses the role nutrition plays on getting a good night’s rest, and more.

Thursday, Jan. 26
• INTERIOR DESIGN SHOW (IDS 12): Marilyn’s interior design expert MICHELLE MAWBY reveals her top picks and local finds from this year’s Interior Design Show (IDS 12) in Toronto.


Friday, Jan. 27
• AGE SPOTS: DR. JULIA CARROLL gives viewers the basics on age spots including its causes and treatments, while Marilyn’s beauty expert CHANTEL SIMMONS reveals a list of beauty products to help prevent and conceal the pigmented skin lesions.
