NFL Conference Championships Deliver Big Audiences on CTV

– New York Giants-San Francisco Overtime Thriller attracts 2.4 million viewers –
– New England-Baltimore game scores 2.05 million viewers –

Toronto, ON (January 23, 2012) – With a spot at SUPER BOWL XLVI on the line, the NFL Conference Championships delivered thrilling games and large audiences for CTV. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms the New York Giants -San Francisco overtime thriller was watched by an average audience of 2.4 million viewers, making it the most-watched television program in Canada Sunday night. The audience for the prime-time Conference Championship game on CTV was up 15% compared to last year (Pittsburgh-New York Jets, 2.06 million viewers).

Earlier in the day the New England-Baltimore AFC Conference Championship attracted an average audience of 2.05 million viewers on CTV. The audience for the game was up 2% compared to last year’s afternoon championship game on CTV (Green Bay-Chicago, 2 million viewers)

Overall, more than 10.8 million Canadians tuned in to watch some or all of the NFL Conference Championships on CTV on Sunday.

CTV is home to SUPER BOWL XLVI on Sunday, Feb. 5 featuring the New England Patriots and the New York Giants – a rematch of the thrilling SUPER BOWL XLII.
