Dan MacLellan Steps Down as Senior Anchor, CTV London
London, ON (March 23, 2012) – CTV London confirmed today that Dan MacLellan is stepping down from his role as senior anchor of CTV London’s 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscast. His successor at CTV London will be announced soon.
"Today I am resigning from my position as senior news anchor at CTV London in order to focus on my upcoming legal challenges,” said MacLellan. “I would like to thank the management and staff of CTV London for their understanding and patience over the past few months, and especially would like to acknowledge all the viewers who have supported me over the past 10 years."
"CTV understands and accepts Dan's decision to resign,” said Don Mumford, Regional Vice-President, Radio and TV Operations, Ontario. “We thank him for his contribution to CTV London over the years and wish him well in resolving the personal issues he faces."
MacLellan began his television career as a reporter with ATV in Halifax before joining Global Television in 1997, where he worked as a business reporter, videographer and weekend anchor. In 2000, MacLellan moved to Edmonton to anchor the 11 p.m. newscast and eventually moved to CTV London (previously /A\ Channel) to anchor the local news in 2002. MacLellan has received wide recognition for his storytelling abilities and live coverage of events and is the recipient of an Atlantic Journalism Award.
