What a Blast! THE BIG BANG THEORY Season Finale Soars to Second-Highest Audience Ever With 4.04 Million Viewers on CTV

Toronto, ON (May 11, 2012) – Television’s #1 series THE BIG BANG THEORY went out with a bang as 4 million viewers tuned into last night’s season finale. Sending Howard (Simon Helberg) into space as a married man, it was the second highest overnight audience in the series’ history, up 12% over the season’s average (3.59 Million) and up 17% versus last year’s season finale*. The episode was also the top program of the week to date both nationally and in the key markets with total viewers (4.04 Million National Viewers) and key demos A25-54 (2.13 Million National Viewers) and A18-49 (2 Million National Viewers).
In Toronto alone, THE BIG BANG THEORY drew massive key demo ratings of 14.4 (A18-34), 12.7 (A18-49), and 13.3 (A25-54) with 2 in 5 people in the key demos watching television tuning in to catch the gang stage a last-minute wedding ceremony for Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard on Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) roof.

Last night’s THE BIG BANG THEORY season finale ranks as the top overnight audience for a regularly scheduled program with total viewers in 2012. Canada’s #1 series, THE BIG BANG THEORY season average (3.59 Million) is up 13% versus last season with key demo growth of +14% (A18-34) and +12% (A18-49 & A25-54)**.
Overall, CTV and CTV Two delivered the Top 6 programs Thursday night, capturing each time-slot from 7:30 to 11 p.m. and winning the night with total viewers and the key adult demos.
The finales continue on CTV this Monday, May 14 with; TWO AND A HALF MEN at a special time of 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, MIKE & MOLLY at 9 p.m. ET/PT and SMASH at 10 p.m. ET/PT (visit ctv.ca to confirm local listings).
