Saskatoon, SK (May 22, 2012) – As announced by CTV Saskatoon’s co-anchor Rob MacDonald on CTV NEWS AT SIX, the communities selected for the Spring Edition of the CTV Hometown Tour are; Landis (May 28); Eatonia (May 29); Spiritwood (May 30); Rosthern (May 31); and Meota (June 1). CTV’s Hometown Tour will run from Monday, May 28th to Friday, June 1st inclusive.

“The Hometown Tour is always fun,” said CTV Saskatoon`s Rob MacDonald. “I enjoy meeting our viewers and appreciate that they take the time out of their day to meet us.”

Launched in 2009, the CTV Hometown Tour was developed to complement CTV’s ongoing commitment to community. Every spring and fall viewers are invited to nominate their community and share what makes their community special. From the nominations, five communities are then selected and CTV NEWS AT SIX anchors Rob MacDonald and Chantel Huber, along with a CTV production crew, tour each of the selected communities. Each day culminates with the CTV NEWS AT SIX broadcasting live from each community.

“We look forward to visiting the communities and getting to know our viewers” said CTV Saskatoon News Director Doug Lett. “All the towns we visit are wonderful and the Hometown Tour is an excellent opportunity to showcase these communities.”

Lett also adds that the Hometown Tour would not be possible without the support of their partner, the Saskatchewan Transportation Company. Shawn Grice, President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company comments: “We know this opportunity means a lot the chosen towns. It gives them a chance to show the rest of Saskatchewan what makes them special and STC is excited to be a part of it.”

CTV Saskatchewan proudly serves the region with #1 rated news programs CTV NEWS AT NOON and CTV NEWS AT SIX, and CTV NEWS AT 11:30 seven days a week. In response to the needs of the community, CTV Saskatchewan launched CTV MORNING LIVE a brand new local morning news program in both Regina and Saskatoon and continues to delivers a farm news segment every day at noon.
