Regina, SK (May 22, 2012) – As announced on CTV NEWS AT SIX, by CTV Regina’s co-anchor Danelle Boivin the communities selected for the Spring Edition of the CTV Hometown Tour. From June 4-8, 2012 the CTV Hometown Tour will be visiting; Eastend (June 4), Montmarte (June 5), Abernethy (June 6), Langenburg (June 7), and Edenwold (June 8).
“I can’t wait to hit the road,” said Boivin. “I’m looking forward to meeting some of our viewers and visiting their wonderful communities.”
Launched in 2009, the CTV Hometown Tour was developed to complement CTV’s ongoing commitment to community. Every spring and fall, viewers are invited to nominate their community and share what makes their community special. From the nominations, five communities are then selected and CTV NEWS AT SIX anchors Danelle Boivin and Dan McIntosh, along with a CTV production crew, tour each of the selected communities. Each day culminates with the CTV NEWS AT SIX broadcasting live from each community.
“The Hometown Tour is very important to CTV Saskatchewan. It helps us stay connected to our viewers outside of Regina and gives us the opportunity to meet our viewers face to face,” said CTV Regina News Director Carl Worth. “The Hometown Tour is also an opportunity for us to showcase the wonderful and vibrant communities of southern Saskatchewan.”
Worth also adds that the Hometown Tour would not be possible without the support of their partner, the Saskatchewan Transportation Company. Shawn Grice, President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company comments: “We know this opportunity means a lot the chosen towns. It gives them a chance to show the rest of Saskatchewan what makes them special and STC is excited to be a part of it.”
